About Me
A Warm, Compassionate Space to Help You Better Understand Yourself
Hello, I'm Barbara, and welcome
If you've found your way here, you may be looking for support, understanding, or simply a safe space where you can talk openly about what you're going through. Whatever has brought you here, you don't have to face it alone.
Reaching out for counselling isn't always easy, and I know that taking the first step often takes courage. My aim is to make that step feel as comfortable and reassuring as possible by offering a warm, confidential and non-judgemental space where you can feel heard, understood and accepted.
I am registered with the BACP, hold relevant insurance, attend regular training and clinical supervision to ensure my practice is ethical and underpinned by the BACP framework.
The Experience And Values
Behind My Practice
-
As an Integrative Counsellor, I believe there is no single approach that works for everyone. Every person has their own experiences, challenges and unique way of seeing the world, which is why I tailor counselling to your individual needs.
Rather than following one fixed approach, I combine different therapeutic models, including Person-Centred Therapy, Psychodynamic Therapy and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), depending on your individual needs, goals and circumstances.
Together, we'll explore your thoughts, emotions and experiences at a pace that feels right for you. While we may focus on what is happening in your life today, we'll also gently explore the experiences and patterns that may have shaped how you think, feel and respond.
I believe every behaviour has a reason, every emotion has meaning, and every person has a unique story.
Developing a deeper understanding of yourself is often the first step towards meaningful and lasting change.

I work with adults and young people aged 16+, offering integrative counselling in both English and Polish.
Over the years, I have gained valuable counselling experience by volunteering with charities, including Carers First, while also supporting clients in my own private practice.
For me, counselling is more than a profession – it is a genuine commitment to supporting others. That's why I continue to volunteer alongside my private practice, supporting people within the community while continuing to grow both personally and professionally.
Alongside my counselling training, I brought with me several years of experience working with children, young people and families. As a qualified Nursery Nurse and former teacher at a Polish Saturday school, I developed a strong understanding of child and adolescent development, communication, and the importance of building safe, trusting relationships.
This experience continues to influence the way I work today. It has strengthened my understanding of how our early experiences can shape our emotional wellbeing, relationships, confidence and sense of self throughout life.
Every client I work with brings a unique story, and every therapeutic relationship continues to deepen my understanding and shape the way I work as a counsellor. I remain committed to ongoing professional development, ensuring I continue to provide ethical, compassionate and effective support to every client.
